Compensation Should Be Provided to Fish Farmers – Bharatiya Kisan Sangh

The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh district meeting demanded that fish farmers who suffered losses worth lakhs due to the death of fish caused by chemical pollution in the river should be compensated. The demand contradicts the findings of the Pollution Control Board and aligns with the report by CUFOS.
The district committee urged the government to take strict legal action against companies that indiscriminately dump chemical waste into the Periyar River. It also emphasized that the Pollution Control Board must take necessary precautions and be more vigilant in preventing such actions in the future.
The resolution was presented by district general secretary Biju Manakkat. The meeting was presided over by district president K.V. Rajeev. Vice president Trivikraman Perumbavoor, secretaries Ajith Piravom and Sudhakaran Perumbavoor, and state organizational secretary Muralidharan also participated.
