The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh State Committee, in collaboration with Palakkad Sinicon Controls Private Limited, has launched an initiative to construct Kunju Kuzhikal (small rainwater pits) for groundwater conservation. The project commenced at the residence of farmers Baiju and Shaiju at Pallam in Kollengode, where the initial rainwater pits were constructed.

The initiative was inaugurated by Sinicon Controls Managing Director, Mr. Ravindran Vilambath. In his address, he emphasized that digging such small pits in every household is a social responsibility aimed at increasing groundwater levels through thousands of these tiny pits. He urged every family to step forward and preserve groundwater for future generations by adopting this practice.

T.S. Narayanan, Environmental Activities Coordinator of RSS Uttar Kerala region, delivered the keynote address. The event was presided over by Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Palakkad District President P. Udayakumaran. Other dignitaries who spoke included E. Narayanankutty (BKS National Executive Committee Member), Adv. Ratheesh Gopalan (State General Secretary), and P. Muraleedharan (State Organizational Secretary).
